Active Bulgarian participation in preparing New York Declaration on Migration

Bulgaria has taken active participation in the development of a single EU position in relation to the adopted in New York UN declaration and accompanying comprehensive framework for responding to the current refugee crisis, as well as roadmap for a global pact on migration. At the insistence of the Bulgarian side the text of the document concerning the return and readmission of those migrants who do not qualify for asylum was kept. During the debate, Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova pointed out the need for intensified international action for crisis management, based on shared responsibility.
