Several days after Plamena Mangova’s memorable concert in Sofia held together with colleagues from Russia and Bulgaria, the Bulgarian pianist announced exciting news. Plamena was invited personally by Daniel Barenboim to take part in season 2017-2018 of the world famous orchestra Staatskapelle Berlin. Following the successful cycle that presented Franz Shubert’s symphonies, the orchestra returns to the beautiful Pierre Boulez hall with three young and excellent conductors, including Pablo Heras-Casado who is to conduct a programme with pieces by Arnold Shoenberg and Joseph Haydn on November 9 this year. A rare, yet very original concerto for piano by Igor Stravinsky is to be performed as well. The young Bulgarian musician Plamena Mangova, who has had exceptionally active concert and recording activity over the recent years, will be the soloist. It is a great honor to me and I welcomed the news with a lot of excitement. I can’t wait to join the concert of Maestro Barenboim’s orchestra and meet the German audience, Plamena Mangova told Radio Bulgaria.
