GERB earns 31.07% of votes at European Parliament elections in Bulgaria

With 100% of the protocols processes the ruling GERB party earned 31.07% of the votes at the European Parliament elections in Bulgaria, this country’s Central Election Commission announced. The opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party is second with 24.26% of the votes, followed by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms which earned 16.55% of the votes. VMRO earned 7.36% of the votes and Democratic Bulgaria coalition earned 6.06% and also sends an MEP to the next European Parliament. Voter turnout in Bulgaria was 33.27%. 33.71% of the Bulgarians voted with preferences at the latest elections. Every second voter of VMRO and Democratic Bulgaria used preferences. The official distribution of all 17 seats will be announced on Friday.
