Bulgarian Minister of Defense and U.S. counterpart discuss security issues

Bulgarian Minister of Defense Dragomir Zakov and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin discussed the situation in Ukraine and measures to strengthen NATO's eastern flank, according to the press center of the Ministry of Defense.

A leading topic in the talks was the permanent multinational battle group formed by Bulgaria under the control of the NATO Commander-in-Chief in Europe. Bulgaria's issues related to the modernization and combat capability of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, as well as the prospects for cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, have also been addressed.

Before that, Lloyd Austin met with Prime Minister Kiril Petkov.
