Bulgaria's coastal city Burgas celebrates today 145 years since its Liberation from the Ottoman rule with solemn rituals and the laying of wreaths and flowers in front of the Russian monument in the city. Flowers were also laid on the Memorial Plaque of Colonel A.M. Lermontov and on the Monument of the Russian Infirmary in the Seaside Garden.

Representatives of the Burgas clergy held a prayer service for the prosperity of the city. Mayor Dimitar Nikolov attended the ceremony. Burgas residents commented that the day should be celebrated and remembered because history should not be forgotten, BNR-Burgas reported.
