On March 31, The Field Museum in Chicago opens the first international exhibition of its kind, tracing the development of some of the earliest agricultural communities in Southeastern Europe to the emergence of tribal kingdoms and monarchies, the Bulgarian National History Museum reported.

"The First Kings of Europe" presents artifacts that are part of the collections of 26 museums from 11 countries on the Old Continent. This is the first large-scale collaboration of its kind between North America and Southeast Europe. The central place in the exhibition is occupied by 32 exhibits from three Bulgarian museums: the National Museum of History and the regional ones in Ruse and Varna. The Bulgarian participation has been financed by the "America for Bulgaria" foundation.
