The lowest price levels for household’s spending last year were registered in Romania, Bulgaria and Poland, while in Ireland they were the highest, according to Eurostat data, quoted by NSI. In Bulgaria, the prices were - 59% of the average level for the European Union, while in Ireland they were 146%.

The biggest difference is in alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, as the highest levels were recorded in Ireland with 216% more compared to the average for the EU, while in Bulgaria the level was minus 66%. The reason for this is taxes. There are also serious differences in prices for restaurant services, hotels and clothing and Bulgaria has the lowest prices in these groups as well.

When it comes to food, it is the cheapest in Romania, while the prices for transport are the lowest in Poland.
