PM Nikolay Denkov: Who would disagree that 24 May is a bright day for us all?

PM Nikolay Denkov sees no reason for We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB) to give up the proposal for 24 May to be put down in the Constitution as the national day of Bulgaria, instead of 3 March, which is the national day now.

“Which would be the group in Bulgaria that would disagree that 24 May is a bright day for us all,” he said. “24 May started with the National Revival, with the Enlightenment, with bringing literacy to the Bulgarian population, but we now imbue it with a different meaning – Bulgarian culture with its world achievements which we are proud of,” PM Denkov said upon his return from Athens, where he paid a one-day visit at the head of a government delegation.

A significant increase in the capacity of transporting Ukrainian grain using Bulgaria’s railway system was one of the issues discussed with the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the visit.
