Bulgarian students earn medals at the 19th International Geography Olympiad in Indonesia

Bulgarian students won 4 medals at the 19th International Geography Olympiad (iGeo 2023) in Bandung, Indonesia. They competed with nearly 200 participants from 46 countries, the Ministry of Education and Science said.

Denis Urumov from the 91st German Language School “Professor Konstantin Galabov”- Sofia and Mihail Paskalev from the High School of Mathematics “Dr. Petar Beron”- Varna earned gold medals. Atanas Ivanov from the National High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences “Academician Lubomir Chakalov” and Alexander Iliev from the Sofia High School of Mathematics “Paisii Hilendarski” won bronze medals. The team is headed by the high school teacher Daniel Hristov and Associate Professor Dr. Dimitar Zhelev from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
