Bulgaria is interested in participating as a co-shareholder in the initiative to create a "green" corridor for the transmission of "green" energy produced in Azerbaijan to Europe, caretaker Premier Dimitar Glavchev said at a meeting in Berlin with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov. Premier Glavchev reaffirmed Bulgaria's support for the initiative, in which Georgia, Hungary and Romania also participate alongside Azerbaijan. It is yet to be specified which state company will take part in it on the Bulgarian side.
During the talks, the Vertical Gas Corridor was also discussed, for the construction of which two major contracts were signed a week ago in Sofia. The project aims to replace Russian gas supplies and will cement Bulgaria's place on the gas map. It will serve as a main corridor for the South-North transmission of Azeri natural gas to Central European markets.
