The forum is the pivotal event during the so-called United Nations summit week, bringing together state and government leaders from all over the world. The idea to convene the summit and to adopt a Pact for the Future belongs to the UN secretary general and goes back to 2021, and the aim is to forge a new international consensus on how we deliver a better present and safeguard the future.
