Bulgaria's Viktoriya Tomova starts with victory at tennis tournament in Beijing

The best Bulgarian tennis player Viktoriya Tomova won the first round of the powerful WTA 1000 tennis tournament in Beijing with a prize fund of nearly 9 million euros. She defeated Lesia Tsurenko from Ukraine 6:3, 6:3.

The next opponent of the Bulgarian tennis player, who is 51st in the world ranking, will be Paula Badosa. The two met once on the court in 2021 and the victory was for the Spaniard.

The scheme of the tournament is headed by Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus, and the American Jessica Pegula is placed at number 2.
