The festival of spiritual music in Gabrovo will close with a concert by the mixed choir of the church of the Intercession of the Theotokos in Sofia. Together with the Gabrovo chamber orchestra, the choir will perform three early works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart for the first time in this country - Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Have Mercy, O Lord and Veni Sancte Spiritus.

“The festival of spiritual music in Gabrovo is very different from such analogues which exist in Sofia, Sliven and Pomorie. It is a forum which is open to our Orthodox music, but also to the musical culture of the other denominations. A forum of tolerance and spiritual enrichment,” says Ivan Stoyanov, conductor of the Gabrovo chamber orchestra.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Gabrovo municipality, Gabrovo bishopric and the Gabrovo-2002 chitalishte. The spiritual music festival is dedicated to 14 October - St. Petka’s Day, patron saint’s day of the town.
