The chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party-United Left urged the political forces in the new parliament to put their party selfishness aside so another election may be avoided.
He called for “crossing out corruption”, “hands off the judiciary” and for an end to the financing of Ukraine, as well as for revoking the latest amendments to the Constitution.
“The country is in a severe political, financial and social crisis,” said Stanislav Balabanov from There Is Such a People (ITN).
While they wait for the ruling of the Constitutional Court on the annulment of the election, their party will advocate for changes to the Election Code and for clearing away the “dead souls” in the electoral registers, Stanislav Balabanov said further.
On behalf of The Alliance for Rights and Freedoms, Dzhevdet Chakarov stated that they will not support a government formed with the overt or covert support of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms-New Beginning, and will seek the establishment of a parliamentary commission to investigate the role of Delyan Peevski in the bankruptcy of KTB bank and his connections inside the judiciary. Dzhevdet Chakarov stated further that they support any annulment of the election for parliament.
There was no declaration in parliament on behalf of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms-New Beginning (DPS-New Beginning). The DPS-New Beginning MPs walked out of plenary and joined the protest of their supporters in front of parliament building who deny the accusations of being a party to vote-buying.
“I call for a full annulment of the election,” said Radostin Vasilev, chairman of the party “Morality, Unity, Honour” or MECH at the opening of the National Assembly.
