At a meeting of the caretaker government, Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev confirmed that the Dutch government has agreed with Bulgaria's full accession to Schengen. He said that according to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the benefits of the country's full accession will be about 800 million euros per year.

"I have never said that we will not submit a budget and I do not know why parties and ‘experts’ should call on us for this. We were ready to do it even in the previous parliament. We have also submitted 12 bills to the new parliament, part of which are tax laws," Glavchev said. He pointed out that there would be no tax increases and the deficit limit is set at 3%, according to the eurozone requirements. "We are making calculations on how to add Christmas bonuses of 50 euros to the pensions," the prime minister added.
