“We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria” have filed a request with the Constitutional Court for the interpretation of a text from the basic law, according to which the composition of the Supreme Judicial Council can elect a prosecutor general and a president of the Supreme Administrative Court.
“The Supreme Judicial Council with an expired mandate, completely de-legitimized before the society, cannot invest trust in such an important election for the judicial system – especially since there are five missing members in the professional quota elected by the magistrates themselves,” MP and former Minister of Justice Atanas Slavov said.
