Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) and Ruse University have announced plans to collaborate on cultural and educational activities at the university's recently established branch in Taraclia, Moldova. This announcement followed a meeting between the leaders of the two institutions. A memorandum of cooperation is to be signed in the near future.
The first academic year at the Taraclia branch of Ruse University will open for students in early September. Students will be able to study seven programmes — pedagogical, technical and economic — reported BNR correspondent Asya Pencheva.
'We expect over 100 first-year students to enrol, which I believe is a very good start, and we will be happy to share the opening of the new academic year with BNR,' said Associate Professor Desislava Atanasova, Rector of Ruse University. Milen Mitev, the Director General of BNR, announced an upcoming celebration for the winners of an essay contest organised by BNR for students from Bulgarian communities in Moldova and Ukraine.
'We intend to present the awards to the contest winners at a concert that we would like to organise jointly with Ruse University in Taraclia, at their new campus. This will combine the opening of the academic year with a beautiful event that will further strengthen the ties between the Bulgarian communities in Moldova and Ukraine and our country,” Milen Mitev said.
Vice President Iliana Yotova will also attend the ceremony in early September.
