Bulgarian households have reported an increase in their income and expenses in the second quarter of 2025. On average, the quarterly total income per person is 3,620 levs (1,850 euros), which is an increase of 12.6% compared to the same period in 2024. The main share of income is the salary (58.3%), according to NSI data.
Total expenses increased by 11.7% to 1,614 euros per person. The most money goes for food and non-alcoholic beverages (30.1%), with an increase of 0.6% compared to the previous year. An increase in the consumption of vegetables, meat and fruit is observed, while that of cheese and oil decreases. Healthcare expenses decreased - from 92 euros to 85 euros ( 7.9%), while those for leisure, culture and education increased - from 87 euros to 104 euros (19.8%).
