In their first match of the main stage in the UEFA Europa League, the Bulgarian football team Ludogorets, led by coach Rui Mota, defeated Malmö 2:1 as a guest. The Razgrad-based Bulgarian team scored both goals before the halftime break and secured three points.

The hosting team of Malmo built an attack after numerous passes and in the 78th minute managed to score a goal.

The victory is Ludogorets' first away win in the Europa League group stage since 2019.

"We need to maintain this momentum," said Ludogorets coach Rui Mota after the victory over the Swedish Malmö. "Everyone is on the same level at the very beginning of the tournament. It's good that we're starting this way. We're very happy with the victory. That's what's important to me. We broke the negative streak on away trips in Europe. The victory at the start is quite important, but we want to win in all the matches. Our goal in the next match will be the same," said the coach of Ludogorets.
