MPs from Delyan Peevski’s DPS-New Beginning have proposed the formation of an ad hoc inquiry committee into the facts and circumstances regarding the activities of George Soros and his son Alexander Soros and their foundations on the territory of Bulgaria financing Bulgarian natural and legal persons and NGOs, as well as establishing their connection with political parties, magistrates, educational institutions, media outlets, business structures and public authorities. The proposal is for the committee to be active in the space of two months and to include 18 MPs – two from each parliamentary group.

The motives for this move are that since the foundation of Soros’ main foundation in this country – Open Society Institute in 1990, a huge network has been created of connected persons with regard to this financing, creating conditions for “overt and covert influence over the principal public, political and economic processes in the country.”
