Bulgaria and Germany discuss the future “European Sky Shield” system

The relations between Bulgaria and Germany are excellent. Germany is among our closest strategic partners. This was stated by Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev after a meeting with his visiting German counterpart Johann Wadephul. The two discussed economic cooperation, the military industry, common security and defense, partnerships in NATO and the EU, the end of the war in Ukraine and assistance to Kiev. 


Minister Georgiev pointed out that they also talked about the construction of a common European air and missile defense system, with Bulgaria supporting the “European Sky Shield” project. He also pointed out that Bulgaria wants to draw attention to security in the Black Sea region.
