The Bulgarian government has approved a new program to support organizations of Bulgarian communities from Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, Ukraine and Moldova and citizens of North Macedonia with Bulgarian identity for the period October 15, 2025 - December 31, 2029. This was announced by the government's press service.

The cabinet also approved additional expenditures under the budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 2025 of up to 1.7 million leva for the implementation of the program this year. They will be spent on financing projects of Bulgarian communities from Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Ukraine and Moldova.

The financial support is part of the state's commitment to Bulgarian historical communities and citizens abroad as carriers of significant intellectual, financial, economic and demographic potential. The approved program provides new opportunities and mechanisms for the inclusion and integration of Bulgarian citizens abroad into state and socio-political life in Bulgaria, as well as for the preservation of the Bulgarian ethno-cultural space and the promotion of the positive image of Bulgaria, the government also announced.
