In the Synodal Palace, Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil met with the parliamentary group of "BSP - United Left". The delegation of the socialists was led by Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of BSP, Atanas Zafirov, the Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church announced.
They discussed the bill adopted at first reading in the parliament on the introduction of the subject "Virtues and Religions" as mandatory in schools.
Zafirov and the MPs shared the questions that arose during their meetings with people in their constituencies. The curricula and the deadlines for the phased introduction of the subject were also discussed.
The two sides united around the understanding that the subject "Virtues and Religions" will contribute to the better upbringing of full-fledged individuals and citizens, BTA reports.
