Lebanese President Aoun in Bulgaria for official visit

At the invitation of Bulgaria's Head of State, Rumen Radev, Lebanon's President, General Joseph Aoun, arrived on an official visit to Bulgaria. The visit takes place ahead of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Lebanon, which will be celebrated next year.


The two leaders discussed prospects for developing bilateral economic and investment cooperation, as well as partnerships in high technology, innovation, culture, science, education, defence and security.


After his meeting with his Lebanese counterpart, President Radev said, "Bulgaria can play an important role in the reconstruction and economic development of Lebanon." President Aoun informed reporters that decisions had been made during the talks regarding the launch of a regular airline service between Beirut and Sofia.
