Convictions for high-level corruption in Bulgaria have been few so far. Sustained progress against high-level corruption is needed. This was stated by EU Commissioner for Justice, Michael McGrath, after the meeting of the EU General Affairs Council. Over the past 10 months, Bulgaria has managed to catch up on its backlog of the last 3 years in the reforms envisaged in the 2022 Recovery and Resilience Plan. This was what Justice Minister Georgi Georgiev, who participated in the council, said.
