The Bulgarian women’s national basketball team will rely on another naturalized player following Khaalia Hillsman. Coach Tanya Gateva will be able to include Stephanie Kostowicz in the EuroBasket 2027 qualifiers in March 2026, the Bulgarian Basketball Federation announced. The American-born athlete received a Bulgarian passport and will be eligible to play for Bulgaria in the Group “E” qualification matches for EuroBasket 2027. After three consecutive wins this season, the national team will host Azerbaijan on March 11 and Ukraine on March 14, and will play away against Montenegro on March 17.

Stephanie Kostowicz was born on October 9, 1995, in Franklin, Wisconsin, USA. She is 189 cm tall and plays at positions 4 and 5. Her surname comes from her grandfather’s Polish roots, although she admits she also has some German ancestry.
