The increase in the minimum wage is supported by 54.1% of Bulgarians. 1/3 of respondents believe that the minimum wage should be equal to the living wage. This is indicated by the results of a representative survey by the Myara Agency commissioned by CITUB.
Nearly 19% of respondents are against the rise of the minimum wage and 27% are hesitant. Support for the increase in the minimum wage is high among those employed in the public and private sectors, as well as among the unemployed. The self-employed and business owners are negatively disposed towards the increase in the minimum wage. In the state budget for 2026, the minimum wage increases by over 12% to 620 euros.
86.1 percent of people say that the salary increase received this year is not sufficient.
